Senior Front-end Engineer

All Gold is the engineering and e-commerce team behind some of the world's largest online brands. Since 2010, we've been building critical behind-the-scenes infrastructure for record-setting footwear and apparel merchants, specializing in e-commerce for high-demand products that sell out quickly due to popularity or limited availability.

How we work

We are a small and efficient remote team, currently consisting of nine members, with team members located in New York, San Francisco, and the United Kingdom. We steer clear of office politics and aim to minimize interruptions and meetings. Our primary modes of communication are Slack and video chats when necessary. We manage our repositories on GitHub and utilize Jira for ticket and sprint management.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking a self-motivated and experienced Senior Front-end Engineer to join our remote team. Your primary focus will be on developing a front-end website generation tool that enables the creation of websites using a set of customizable and accessible UI components. The platforms you build will run on Headless Shopify and Sanity.

Role & Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality, responsive, and scalable web applications.
• Implement automated testing using Cypress.
• Translate UI/UX designs into functional and accessible front-end code.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed, performance, and scalability.
• Identify and troubleshoot performance and usability issues.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging front-end technologies, tools, and best practices.
• Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and clients.
• Complete JIRA tickets and participate in weekly dev standups.
• Occasional in-person meetings (for NYC-based team members).

Technical Requirements

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to produce clean, efficient code.
• Expertise in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Familiarity with tools like Storybook, Vitest, Cypress, and GitHub CI/CD.
• Experience with modern front-end frameworks and libraries.
• Knowledge of Shopify's Hydrogen/Oxygen frameworks is a plus.
• Experience with headless CMS platforms like Sanity is a plus.
• Understanding of responsive and mobile-first design principles.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards and techniques.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• An eye for clean and functional design.
